RACINE, W.I. – Wes Logan stayed true to his roots and let the jig do the talking on Championship Sunday at Lake Tenkiller. With a final-day charge that included the biggest bag of the tournament—and a 5-pound, 1-ounce kicker to seal the deal—Logan jumped from third place to claim his second career Elite Series title. His three-day total of 58 pounds, 2 ounces earned him a $100,000 payday and delivered the perfect Father’s Day gift to his dad. Fittingly, Logan’s first Elite win came on Mother’s Day in 2021 at Neely Henry. Now, both parents are part of his winning story.

Despite entering the event ranked 40th in the Progressive Angler of the Year standings, it’s been a challenging season for Logan, who has struggled to find his groove. But on Lake Tenkiller, he flipped the script. He started strong with 14 pounds, 12 ounces on Day One to land in 11th place, then added 15 pounds, 13 ounces on Day Two to climb into the Top Five. A 15-pound, 9-ounce limit on Semifinal Saturday pushed him into third, setting the stage for a final-day surge. His final-day limit of 16 pounds, 14 ounces sealed the deal by just an ounce, as Logan stuck to his guns—a timely reminder that trusting his style and staying the course still gets it done at the highest level.

“It’s been a tough year, and I hit a wall as a professional—so much so that I questioned whether I even belonged,” Logan admitted. “After Hartwell, I really struggled. But this week, I got a few bites flipping a jig in practice and decided I was going to fish the way I know how. For some reason, the little area I found just kept reloading. Six of the Top 10 were fishing that same stretch, and I’d pull in behind them and still catch a 3-pounder. I don’t know why it worked—but it did.”

Logan’s Shallow-Water Quest
Wes Logan fished exactly how he wanted to at Tenkiller, bumping around shallow and flipping a jig to isolated cover. While his style played a major role, the tools on his boat helped seal the deal. The Minn Kota Ultrex QUEST trolling motor gave him the stealth and control he needed to work behind other anglers, quietly picking off key fish in high-pressure areas. The added speed and efficiency of the QUEST allowed him to hit two or three targets in an area, then quickly jump to the next stretch, cruising on 10 power to stay aggressive and keep his timing right.

Just as critical was Logan’s use of Humminbird LakeMaster mapping. Once he dialed in a pattern during practice, LakeMaster allowed him to pinpoint and replicate similar areas across the lake with shallow cover—maximizing his time and keeping him locked into productive water. When it came time to fish slow and pick apart shallow targets, his Minn Kota Raptors kept him locked in place, allowing him to stay focused and methodical.

“These tools were everything this week,” said Logan. “The Ultrex QUEST was super quiet and let me catch key fish behind other guys effectively, and LakeMaster helped me break down the lake fast and find the right stuff without wasting time. I really leaned on everything—the motor, electronics, mapping and shallow water anchors—it all worked together and helped me fish exactly how I needed to win.”

“This was a special win for Wes, and we’re proud to have him on our team,” said Field Promotions Manager Tim Price. “He overcame some real struggles this season, stayed true to his style, and proved to himself he belongs. It’s always great to see hard work pay off—especially on a day that meant so much to him and his family.”

Logan’s Father’s Day victory at Lake Tenkiller was a perfect mix of instinct, determination, and the right tools on deck—check out the VIDEO and learn how he used his Minn Kota and Humminbird technology to make it happen.
