Washington FWC Meets Virtually Jan. 9

The Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission is meeting virtually at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 9 to consider advisory committee appointment recommendations and hear a briefing on the ongoing development of the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW)'s Game Management Plan.

First, the Commission will decide whether to appoint three new WDFW-recommended volunteer members to serve on the Americans with Disabilities Act Advisory Committee. This committee, which reports directly to the Commission, represents the interests of disabled hunters, anglers, and wildlife viewers on matters pertaining to barriers to recreational access to public lands, WDFW-managed lands, and hunting and fishing opportunities for persons with disabilities.

Then, the Commission will hear an update from WDFW staff about progress on the development of the Department's new Game Management Plan.

The Jan. 9 meeting agenda and information on how to join the virtual meeting are available on WDFW's Commission webpage. WDFW will record the meeting so the public can watch afterward at their convenience.

The Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission is a panel appointed by the governor that sets policy for WDFW. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife works to preserve, protect, and perpetuate fish, wildlife, and ecosystems while providing sustainable fish and wildlife recreational and commercial opportunities.
