Noted boating writer and editor Chris Caswell passed away May 13.
In addition to writing about boats of every genre, he hosted the Marine Voyager cable television series seen weekly on the Speed Channel and Outdoor Life networks. He even appeared on Oprah! as an expert on the boating lifestyle.
His boating career ranged from TransPacific Races to one-design sailing to charter cruising in exotic places like Thailand and Tahiti, and covering every America's Cup since 1970.
He was editor in chief of SEA Magazine, a CBS Publishing title headquarted in Huntington Beach, CA, and also was widely known as a contributing writer for brands such as Power & Motoryacht, Passagemaker, Yachting, Sail, Cruising World, and countless others. His unique blend of humor and authority earned him legions of devoted readers along with numerous industry awards.
