The Coastal Conservation Association of California (CCA CAL) has launched a search for a new Executive Director to successfully lead the non-profit, volunteer-based organization in its critical mission to conserve, promote and enhance California ocean resources and sportfishing access to them.
"These are both exciting and challenging times for California saltwater anglers," said Bill Shedd, chairman of AFTCO and CCA CAL. "For more than a decade, CCA CAL has led the way in advocating for California saltwater anglers, fighting against unwarranted closures and regulations, supporting hatchery programs through legislation and the volunteer network, and working to build thriving marine habitat off our coast.
"CCA CAL has racked up major achievements for its members, particularly over the past few years," Shedd continued. "But as we look to the future, we recognize that CCA CAL's continued success and growth will hinge on proven leadership, vision and organizational skills, and that starts with a dynamic Executive Director, the top staff position for CCA CAL."
The CCA CAL Executive Director serves to manage a wide range of programs, activities and personnel. This include coordination, communication, collaboration and consensus building with CCA CAL Board of Directors, local CCA CAL chapters, committees, and other volunteers in organizing and promoting programs such as fundraising, CCA CAL events, show participation, sportfishing and conservation advocacy, the white seabass hatchery grow-out program, the season-long STAR Tournament, and more.

About CCA CAL
The non-profit Coastal Conservation Association of California was created in 2015 when recreational anglers and outdoor enthusiasts came together to work for the conservation and enhancement of marine resources and ocean eco-systems in the Golden State. Today, CCA CAL is working to protect not only the health, habitat, and sustainability of our marine resources, but also the interests of saltwater anglers. CCA CAL's goal is to protect sportfishing access to ocean waters and resources that anglers cherish and enjoy every day. CCA CAL consists of members spread across local chapters throughout California and growing every day.
