FLY TYING SYMPOSIUM FINDS NEW HOME IN LANCASTER, PA FOR NOV. 21-22 EVENT
When the International Fly Tying Symposium's longtime hotel and convention center in New Jersey closed, it looked like curtains for the event as well.
But the Marriott Hotel Lancaster County Convention Center found an opening for Nov. 21-22 and the Tying Symposium immediately contracted for the space.
The international fly-tying event will feature some 100 professional and highly qualified amateur fly tiers – among the best the world has to offer – for demonstrations, seminars, and individual instruction in hand tied fishing flies designed to fool everything from trout to tarpon, announced director Chuck Furimsky.
The tiers will display their fly tying craft virtually non-stop at the 2026 Symposium venue in historic Lancaster from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sat.; 9-4:30 on Sun.
Among those already scheduled are Tim Cammisa, Son Tao, Tom Baltz, Steve Culton, Tim Flagler, John Shaner, Doug Yocabet, Clark "Cheech" Pierce, and Curtis Fry. Barry Ord Clarke has a prior tying commitment in London that he is attempting to renegotiate.
Admission is $20 on Sat., $15 Sun., or $30 for a two day pass. Children age 5 and under are free; children ages 6-12 are $10. Admission is by cash only at the box office.
All displays, seminars, and demonstrations are included. Individual special classes are priced separately. Vendors will display fly tying materials, tools, and accessories.
