Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) enforcement agents cited a subject for allegedly violating charter boat regulations in Jefferson Parish on Aug. 28.
Agents cited Glenn Lebouef, 59, of Abbeville, for three counts of failing to comply with charter boat regulations.
Agents started an investigation after receiving a tip about a fisherman chartering trips out of Bridgeside Marina in Grand Isle without the required licenses or insurance. During the investigation, agents compiled evidence regarding the charter fishing activities of Lebouef.
Agents made contact with Lebouef at the Bridgeside Marina where he admitted to running illegal charter fishing trips. Agents learned that Lebouef did not possess a charter fishing license, a U.S. Coast Guard captain's license or the required insurance.
Failing to comply with charter boat regulations brings a $250 to $500 fine and up to 90 days in jail for each offense.
Agents participating in this case are Sgt. Norman Deroche and Senior Agent Kyle Volentine.
