Late yesterday, the White House released a list of $30 billion worth of products recommended for reduced tariff treatment by the U.S.-China Board of Trade. Particularly pertinent to the fishing industry, the following products are included in the US import list:
- 95072040 Fish hooks, snelled
- 95072080 Fish hooks, not snelled
- 95079020 Fishing line, put up and packaged for retail sale
- 95079040 Fishing casts or leaders
While the U.S. and China have approved lists of products for possible tariff reductions, neither has announced a specific reduction, rate, or effective date.
