Bonefish & Tarpon Trust welcomes Valerie Craig as Chief Operating Officer.
Craig has worked in the conservation field for more than 20 years, designing and leading science-based programs to deliver measurable impact. Among her affiliations, Craig worked for more than a decade at National Geographic Society in progressively senior roles supporting science, innovation, and impact. As a consultant, she provided support and counsel to executive teams at The Conservation Fund and Ocean Conservancy. Throughout her career, she has earned a reputation for leading teams across diverse disciplines, strategy development and deployments, and operation effectiveness.
"I'm thrilled to join Bonefish & Tarpon Trust as it enters an ambitious new period of growth and impact," said Craig. "I look forward to working with the team, board, members, and partners to build the capacity and systems needed to extend impact for the communities and habitats that depend on healthy fisheries."
Craig earned the B.A. in International Relations at the University of California- Davis and the M.E.M. in Environmental Management from the Yale School of the Environment. She is a past board member and former chair of Ocean Outcomes and the Lindblad National Geographic Grant Fund.
