Louisiana On-Line Boat Registration

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) has announced launching an online platform for boat registration renewals and duplicates. The updated boat registration system is now live. The new, user-friendly online platform, powered by PayIt, makes it easy for customers to quickly manage boat registration renewals and request duplicates without having to visit an office, mail a check, or make a phone call. More modern advancements are also on the horizon with this new online platform, so stay on the lookout.

“We’re excited to launch this new, innovative online platform, which makes it easier than ever for our customers to renew their boat registrations and request renewals,” said Secunda Byrd, Licensing Director for LDWF. “Ultimately, we hope the new system allows boaters to spend less time on paperwork and more time enjoying our State’s beautiful waterbodies.”

Starting today, November 7, to renew a boat registration, customers can visit the secure platform at boat.wlf.la.gov, create their account, provide their registration number and first four digits of their Hull ID, and make payment via credit card.

As a reminder, LDWF has identified that certain registered businesses and co-owner accounts do not have up-to-date personal or account information on file. To ensure uninterrupted access to LDWF’s new online services, make sure that if you have received a postcard from LDWF titled “Official Notice to Registered Businesses and Co-owners,” that you take the steps necessary to ensure your account is up to date. If you do not receive a postcard, this does not impact you.
