Catch & Cook Clinic in Wisconsin

WHO: Adults interested in learning how to catch, clean and cook trout.

WHAT: This weekend-long class in Vernon County, starting on Friday, May 17, will teach anglers the basics of fishing for trout in Wisconsin's famous Driftless Area.

Attendees will learn how to use a spinning rod and select baits and lures in preparation for Saturday's fishing outing. Fly fishing is on the agenda as well. After a day on the streams, attendees will learn how to clean and cook their catch before sitting down to a potluck dinner.

Sunday will feature another opportunity for attendees to practice their new angling skills.

All gear, supplies, group camping and meals are provided. A packing list of what to bring and directions to camp will be emailed to registrants. The class is limited to 16 adults.

WHERE: West Fork Sports Club, S3649 County Rd. S, Viroqua, WI

WHEN: Friday, May 17, 5 p.m. – Sunday, May 19, 2 p.m.

COST: This class is free, but camping may require a fee depending upon camping choices – with a group or on your own. Your registration confirms your attendance. If you must cancel, please contact us in advance of the event.

LICENSES: Fishing license requirements can be waived for new anglers with less than two years of fishing experience. Participants opting for the waiver must obtain a DNR Customer Identification number and include it on their registration form. Attendees can find this number in their Go Wild account or by calling DNR Customer Service at 1-888-936-7463.

Anglers with two or more years of fishing experience must have a current Wisconsin fishing license and trout stamp.
