The eco-friendly Purasan EX 2 Treatment System from Raritan Engineering provides an innovative means of treating onboard sewage so it can be safely and legally disposed of overboard in any area within the three-mile limit and not considered a federal no-discharge zone.

The Purasan EX 2 is a US Coast Guard-certified Type 1 Marine Sanitation Device. Fast and efficient, it has a two-minute treatment cycle, meaning a boat could eliminate the need for holding tanks and pump-out stations altogether. Designed for use with fresh or saltwater, one unit can serve up to two marine toilets.

During each flush, waste enters the Raritan Purasan EX 2 treatment tank where an enhanced disinfectant is automatically added to neutralize pathogens. A high-speed macerator efficiently liquifies waste and paper to ensure optimal contact with the disinfectant. An air pump improves water flow into the treatment tank which prevents premature tablet disintegration. Simultaneous to each flush, an equal volume of treated waste is discharged overboard. An integrated control system alerts users when tablets need replacement, ensuring uninterrupted operation. This advanced flow-through design eliminates the need for long-term storage, ensuring a cleaner and more sustainable boating experience.

The Purasan EX 2 comes with a convenient switch panel that provides operational control and alerts for low tablet quantity, overfilled dispenser and power issues. Available in 12 or 24V DC versions, the system draws a mere ten and eight amps, respectively. The treatment tank measures 16" x 8.75" x 13.5" for easy installation at any height and convenient maintenance. The compact control module and integrated air pump can be located up to 6' away.
