Montana FWP Virtual Townhall Meeting Today

The summer heat is rapidly approaching, and this year forecasters are calling for a good chance of above-normal temperatures and below-normal precipitation in Montana.

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks fisheries and water staff are prepared with a suite of tools to help protect our fisheries from high water temperatures and low streams flows, while maintaining angling opportunity around the state.

On Wednesday at noon, FWP will host a virtual townhall to discuss these tools and the concerns going into the summer. The townhall will last an hour and feature fisheries staff from west, southwest and central Montana as well as FWP Fish Chief Adam Strainer.

“We know anglers and recreationists are keenly interested in how we manage our fisheries when faced with ongoing drought conditions, like we are now,” Strainer said. “This will give folks a chance to hear what our concerns are and to ask us anything they’d like.”

To join the virtual townhall at 12 p.m. Wednesday June 11, via Zoom, simply click on this link. Attendees can raise their hands to ask questions. To watch live or to catch a recording after it’s over, go to FWP’s YouTube channel.
