Hurricane Delivers Flamingos to Florida West Coast

Hurricane Idalia didn't just ruffle feathers; it brought some along for the ride! An estimated 70 flamingos left the Yucatan Peninsula and Cuba with the recent storm and ~16 of the group have been spotted in Tampa Bay! Did you know that a group of flamingos is called a "flamboyance"? Young flamingos are brown and white and attain adult colors in 2-3 years. Flamingos fly in lines and honk similar to geese. Will this group wing it back home or decide they're Florida flamboyant enough to stay? Either way, it's a unique natural experience for those fortunate enough to see them.
