In a stunning business decision, the Gas South exhibition facility that has been Atlanta’s home to the Fly Fishing Show since 2016 abruptly revoked their contract for the 2026 event.
In a subsequent letter to Atlanta exhibitors, Fly Fishing Show President and CEO Ben Furimsky wrote, “We are officially canceling the 2026 Atlanta Fly Fishing Show. We know how important this show is . . . and to that end, we are actively working to return to Atlanta in 2027 and beyond. The challenge lies in securing space at venues that prioritize events with larger hotel blocks than we can offer – but we remain committed to finding a solution.”
Furimsky continued, “Since we received the cancellation notice, we’ve been working tirelessly to find a replacement venue. I toured multiple facilities, and managed to secure alternate dates. However, we then learned the potential new venue would not allow us to have a casting pond – an essential part of the show experience.
The Fly Fishing Show is offering disappointed Atlanta exhibitors numerous options including having deposit money immediately returned in full or transferring the funds to another 2026 show venue.
