New SOLACE 28 HCS for Anglers

Designed by legendary boat builder Stephen Dougherty, the 28HCS hybrid center console features a design that offers everything needed for inshore and nearshore family fishing, with offshore capabilities. S?LACE incorporates a twin ventilated step hull design in all their models, resulting in superb boat handling and efficiency. Hull number one of the 28HCS is powered by twin V6 300 Yamaha engines, achieving speeds up to 61 MPH at 1.2 MPG, with a cruising speed of 32 MPH at 2.0 MPG.

True to all Dougherty designs, the in-house molds are sculpted using a five-axis milling system. Construction methods incorporate a carbon fiber and epoxy resin blend, vacuum infusion, and tight tolerances, providing a great strength-to-weight ratio. The fit and finish are second to none, ensured by rigorous quality control checks throughout the entire build process. Maximum horsepower is 700, with power options available from Yamaha or Mercury. The S?LACE 28HCS strikes a balance between a hard-core fishing boat and all the creature comforts for the family. With 30-gallon and optional 23-gallon livewells, keeping a variety of bait alive all day is no problem. There is plenty of room for your catch with two 30-gallon fish boxes. Rod holders include 8 in the gunwale, 6 on the hardtop, and 4 under the gunwale.

The mezzanine seat incorporates a 90-quart built-in cooler and folds down to access a large rigging station, tackle storage, and tool holders molded into the leaning post. The rear seat conceals two removable 50-quart coolers and folds down to create a large aft casting deck. A fully actuating windshield with wiper provides airflow to the helm and protection from the elements. There is a dedicated raw water washdown hose and a freshwater hose that pulls from a 20-gallon tank. A large seating area around the bow features a forward console seat that folds up to reveal a bow livewell. A filler can be placed in the bow to create a large casting deck and sun pad. S?LACE offers an integrated optional second station, as well as bow and aft shading.

There is an abundance of seating with incredibly comfortable silicone-based cushions that attach with an embedded magnet system. The helm seating and 360-degree bolsters are also silicone-based, making them more durable and easier to clean than vinyl. Storage compartments are located under the bow seating and bow deck, with dedicated life jacket and fire extinguisher storage under the gunwales. The boat includes two ergonomically friendly dive ladders, one off the transom and one off the bow, next to the dedicated anchor storage. The console cabin amenities include a large window with a shade for natural light, a molded fiberglass entry door, a head with a sink, vanity storage, and 6 feet of headroom. The helm can accommodate two 16” Garmin MFDs, a phone charger, a switch panel, and an amplified Fusion stereo powering several JL Audio speakers.
