Pickwick to Host MLF Phoenix Bass Fishing League Wild Card

COUNCE, Tenn.– Major League Fishing (MLF) announced today that Pickwick Lake and Counce, Tennessee, has been selected to host the 2025 Phoenix Bass Fishing League Presented by T-H Marine Wild Card tournament, which will take place Nov. 14-15. The two-day event, hosted by Explore Pickwick Lake/Hardin County Tourism, will launch from the Pickwick Landing State Park.

“Hosting the Major League Fishing BFL Wild Card out of Pickwick Landing State Park is a huge economic driver for our local economy,” said Beth Pippin, Tourism Executive Director for Explore Pickwick Lake/Hardin County Tourism. “We are honored to welcome the anglers and fishing fans from all over and encourage them to explore Pickwick and Tennessee.”

In order to be eligible to fish the Wild Card tournament, anglers must have entered all five events within a Phoenix Bass Fishing League division during the 2025 season, fished at least two of them, and are not already advancing to the All-American via a previous qualification.

Anglers will take off from the Pickwick Landing State Park, located at 120 Playground Loop in Counce, at 7 a.m. CT each day of competition. Weigh-ins will be held at the State Park both days beginning at 3 p.m. Fans are welcome to attend the takeoffs and weigh-ins, as well as follow the action online through the “MLF Live” weigh-in broadcasts at MajorLeagueFishing.com.

The full field competes both days at the Phoenix Bass Fishing League Wild Card, with winners determined by the heaviest two-day catch. The top three boaters and top three co-anglers will advance to the 2026 Phoenix Bass Fishing League Presented by T-H Marine All-American, held on Lake Murray in Columbia, South Carolina, May 28-30, 2026, and is hosted by the Capital City Lake Murray Country Regional Tourism Board.

There will be no off-limits period prior to the pretournament meeting for the Wild Card. No contestant may be on tournament waters for the purpose of locating bass or potential fishing waters after the start of the pretournament meeting except during tournament hours.

Entry for the Phoenix Bass Fishing League Wild Card at Pickwick Lake opens Monday, Oct. 27, 2025, at 8 a.m. CT and runs through Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025, at 5 p.m. CT. Anglers can enter by phone at 270.252.1000.

The 2025 Phoenix BFL Presented by T-H Marine was a 24-division circuit devoted to weekend anglers, with 134 events throughout the season – five qualifying tournaments in each division. The top 60 boaters and co-anglers from each division, along with the five qualifying tournament winners, advanced to one of 12 BFL Regional tournaments – or the Wild Card – where they competed to finish in the top three and qualify for one of the longest-running championships in all of competitive bass fishing – the 43rd annual BFL All-American. The BFL All-American will take place May 28-30, 2026, at Lake Murray in Columbia, South Carolina, and is hosted by the Capital City Lake Murray Country Regional Tourism Board.
