At the core of the Tesoro LDJ is a Machined Rigid Frame, CNC-cut from a solid block of 6061-T6 aluminum for unmatched structural integrity. Both side plates are forged and machined from aluminum to maintain alignment and strength under extreme pressure. A cold-forged, Type-II anodized aluminum spool ensures the durability needed for high-drag loads, while delivering consistent smoothness through repeated use.

The Tesoro LDJ features XL Gearing, built with oversized 303-grade stainless steel drive and pinion gears for maximum torque and cranking power. The Flite Drive system enhances gear support and smoothness, maintaining stability even under full drag. Okuma’s Carbonite Dual Force Drag System is at the heart of the reel, featuring drag washers on both sides of the spool and delivers drag pressure of up to 26-lbs at strike and up to 46-lbs at full. The reel is further optimized by Cal’s drag grease for smooth operation and efficient heat dissipation.

Internally, the reel is equipped with 9 corrosion-resistant stainless-steel bearings and 2 thrust bearings (9BB+2TB) for long-lasting fluid rotation. The Triple Anti-Reverse System uses dual one-way bearings backed by a mechanical ratchet, delivering solid hooksets and eliminating handle back play.

Designed with real-world saltwater use in mind, the Tesoro LDJ includes a Spool Lock system to help anglers break off quickly when snagged on the bottom—saving time and preserving tackle.
