CCA Florida Joins Inspection of S.S. United States Artificial Reef Project

Last Thursday, #CCAFlorida joined Visit Destin-Fort Walton Beach and Okaloosa Board of County Commissioners on an exclusive inspection of the S.S. United States, which will become the largest artificial reef in the world when deployed this spring.

The iconic 990-foot former ocean liner is currently docked in Mobile, Alabama, where it's being cleaned and prepared for deployment. Once complete, the vessel will be placed approximately 22 nautical miles southwest of the Destin East Pass and 32 nautical miles southeast of the Pensacola Pass.

CCA Florida is proud to contribute $500,000 toward this landmark conservation effort, transforming an iconic ship into thriving marine habitat that will benefit anglers and marine life for generations to come.
