Volunteer Opportunities: Oyster Mat Workshop and Shoreline Restoration Co-Hosted by CCA Florida

Volunteer Opportunity: Oyster Mat Workshop

Join the Indian River Lagoon Natural Resources Department and CCA Florida for a Living Docks Oyster Mat Workshop to help create oyster mats that will be used in local lagoon restoration projects.

Saturday, June 27

12 to 3 p.m.

Walking Tree Brewery, 3209 Dodger Rd., Vero Beach, FL 32960

The dried oyster shells attached to these mats attract oysters and other filter-feeding organisms that improve water quality, create habitat for fish and wildlife, support a healthier, more diverse ecosystem and help restore the Indian River Lagoon.

Whether you can stay for the entire workshop or just stop by for a portion of the event, your help makes a difference. Come learn about oyster gardening, meet fellow conservation-minded community members and contribute directly to lagoon restoration efforts. To register, please click here.
