Ever Green's Lucy Worm: Renaissance of the Ribbon

NEW FOR 2026

Renaissance of the Ribbon

Ever Green breathes new life into the curly-tail worm with the all-new Lucy Worm

FOOTHILL RANCH, CA (June 26, 2026) – Since the early 1970s, the curly-tail worm has been a permanent fixture in every angler's tackle box. It is arguably one of the most effective lure designs ever conceived, yet for over fifty years, it has remained largely frozen in time. While the industry saw modest changes like the introduction of glitter, scent, and multi-colors, the core architecture of the worm stayed stagnant—until now.

Ever Green, a brand built on a legacy of precision and artisan-level detail, accepted the challenge to reexamine and reinvigorate this foundational lure. The result is Lucy Worm: a 3.2-inch finesse masterpiece designed to transform a decades-old concept.

Engineering the Evolution

At first glance, the Ever Green Lucy may resemble the worms of the past, but the magic lies in the technical evolution of its form. "Traditional worms often suffer from "spin" or "fouling" during the retrieve," said DAIWA Field Marketing Manager, Chris Martin. "Ever Green solved this by integrating stabilizing body-fins. These wings act as a keel, preventing the lure from rolling and ensuring the tail stays in a perfect strike-inducing position."

The true breakthrough, however, is how Lucy is injection-molded, versus poured. "By pushing the limits of tail thinness, Ever Green's designers achieved a wagging action that triggers even the most lethargic and pressured fish," continued Martin. "Plus, whether you burn it on a fast retrieve or crawled at a snail's pace, every Lucy swims exactly like the one before it—consistency earned through injection molding."

"The curly-tail worm hasn't evolved much since the early 70s. It was high-time for a reexamination and a renaissance," said Martin. "With Lucy, we've unleashed the bait's full potential through artisan details that make it look alive with the subtlest twitch of the rod tip."

Stabilizing Wings

Versatility in the Field

While the design is a nod to heritage, the application is purely modern. Lucy is built to thrive across a spectrum of finesse techniques. From the subtle dance of a dropshot or Neko-rig to the dragging bottom-contact of a Carolina rig, or even as a high-action finesse jig trailer, Lucy adapts to the angler's needs.

To ensure no sense goes unstimulated, Ever Green infused the bait with their time-tested squid scent and flavor during the construction process. This ensures the attraction is baked into the DNA of the lure, requiring no additional gels or sprays to close the deal on a wary predator.
