Shimano Introduces Insurgence, a New Inshore Rod Series for the Technical Saltwater Angler

Charleston, SC – Shimano North America Fishing introduces the all-new Insurgence, a purpose-built inshore saltwater rod series debuting at ICAST 2026 in both casting and spinning configurations. Designed for anglers targeting redfish, snook, trout, tarpon, and other popular inshore species with artificial lures, Insurgence combines lightweight construction, fast actions, and Shimano's premium rod technologies to deliver the sensitivity and strength demanded by modern inshore anglers.

Built to handle everything from accurate casts under mangroves to long presentations across open flats and battles with hard-fighting gamefish, the Insurgence lineup includes 13 total models. The casting series features three models ranging from 6'10" Medium Light to 7′ Medium Heavy, while the spinning series offers ten models ranging from a 6'6″ Medium Heavy+ designed for tight quarters around docks and mangroves to an 8′ Extra Extra Heavy model built specifically for tarpon.

"Inshore anglers are some of the most technique-specific anglers out there, and they need a rod that can keep up with how they actually fish," said Kade Gewanter, Product Marketing Manager at Shimano North America Fishing. "Insurgence gives them 13 models built around the specific presentations and species they chase, with the technology to feel every bite and the strength to handle.

Every Insurgence rod features Shimano's Hi-Power X blank construction, which reduces twist and increases blank strength for improved casting accuracy and responsiveness. Shimano's Carbon Monocoque rear grip enhances sensitivity by transmitting vibrations directly to the angler's hand, while Fuji O Guides provide smooth line management and durability in saltwater environments. A lightweight CI4+ reel seat completes the package, creating a highly sensitive connection between angler, rod, and reel.
