Shimano North America Fishing Launches CORE G9 and AERO 8 Premium Braided Lines at ICAST 2026

CORE G9 Brings a Sinking Design for Deep Water Control While AERO 8 Covers Shallow and Finesse Applications

Charleston, SC – Shimano North America Fishing launches CORE G9 and AERO 8, two new premium freshwater braided lines debuting at ICAST 2026. Made in Japan with ultra-high-strength IZANAS polyethylene fiber, both lines are designed for technique-specific bass fishing, with CORE G9 focused on deep-water control and AERO 8 built for shallow and finesse applications.

CORE G9 features an 8-carrier weave with a high-density core that gives it a specific gravity of 1.13–1.27, allowing it to sink through the water column and maintain straight-line control in techniques like strolling, drop shots, and neko rigs. This reduces line bow from wind and current and improves bait positioning and bite detection in deeper water. AERO 8 uses a soft 8-carrier construction designed for smooth casting, natural lure movement, and finesse presentations in shallow water or light-line applications where sensitivity and subtle action are critical.

"CORE G9 and AERO 8 give anglers two distinct options built around how they actually fish," says Kade Gewanter, Product Marketing Manager at Shimano North America Fishing. "Whether working deep structure or fishing shallow finesse techniques, both lines are built for precision, control, and consistency."

Both lines are made with IZANAS fiber, reducing stretch compared to conventional braided lines and improving sensitivity from lure to rod tip. Their 8-carrier construction creates a smooth, round profile that reduces friction through guides and improves casting distance, control, and consistency across techniques.

CORE G9 (MSRP $17.99) is available in 0.6–2 PE in dark mocha and pink. AERO 8 (MSRP $17.99) is available in 0.5–2 PE, equivalent to 6–20 lb class, in moss green and orange. Both will be available at authorized Shimano dealers .
