This September, CCA Louisiana's Impact Team volunteers are hitting the water in sixteen parishes across the state, hosting waterway cleanups from Shreveport to Grand Isle as part of Love Our Waterways, a statewide initiative led by Keep Louisiana Beautiful (KLB). For CCA Louisiana and its more than 25,000 members, the effort is personal: clean rivers, bayous and coastline are the foundation of the healthy fisheries the organization exists to protect. This September's push is backed by Woodside Energy, the lead statewide sponsor of CCA Louisiana's Impact Team, whose support funds cleanup supplies and equipment across CCA Louisiana's chapter network, starting with the Lake Charles Waterway Cleanup.

"This funding allows us to expand our conservation work through waterway cleanups that remove litter and marine debris from Louisiana's coast, estuaries and inland waterways, while engaging more residents and volunteers in protecting the natural resources we all enjoy."
WOODSIDE ENERGY, LEAD STATEWIDE SPONSOR OF THE IMPACT TEAM
Woodside Energy is the lead statewide sponsor of CCA Louisiana's Impact Team, the volunteer arm that plans and runs cleanups statewide. Woodside's support will help fund the dumpsters, disposal and supplies it takes to get litter and marine debris out of Louisiana's waterways in every chapter the Impact Team serves. That sponsorship kicks off this month with the Lake Charles Waterway Cleanup on Saturday, September 13 at 9 a.m. at 1082-1102 N. Lakeshore Dr., where the Lake Charles Chapter will lead the event alongside Impact Team volunteers, with the community invited to bring gloves and join in.
"Woodside Energy's commitment as our lead statewide Impact Team sponsor makes this kind of hands-on conservation work possible," Trascher said. "When a company invests at that level, it means more cleanups, more supplies and more volunteers reaching the waterways that need it most, all year long, not just for a single event."
LOVE OUR WATERWAYS SUPPORT FROM KEEP LOUISIANA BEAUTIFUL
CCA Louisiana's September cleanup schedule is supported in part by a $10,000 2026-2027 Healthy Communities Grant from Keep Louisiana Beautiful, made possible through funding from the State of Louisiana and the Office of the Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser. This year, KLB awarded 22 Healthy Communities Grants totaling more than $177,735 to parishes, municipalities, schools, universities, nonprofit organizations, state agencies and KLB Affiliate organizations across the state.
"The best ideas for making Louisiana cleaner and more beautiful come from the people who know their communities best," said Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser. "These grants give local organizations the resources to turn those ideas into action, creating cleaner neighborhoods, stronger community pride and lasting results that benefit everyone."
KLB Executive Director Susan Russell said the Healthy Communities Grant program is designed to support projects that inspire long-term behavioral change while encouraging community collaboration, focused on litter removal and prevention, education, waste reduction, recycling and enforcement, with projects selected for their community support, volunteer involvement and broad benefit.
