Savage Gear Unveils A Unique Swimbait Tool for Big Bass Anglers
New Scandal Resident glide bait creates a visual overload on the surface and stays in the strike zone longer
COLUMBIA, S.C.– As anglers dive deeper into swimbait techniques, fish are becoming accustomed to seeing traditional side-to-side glide bait presentations. The new Savage Gear Scandal Resident gives swimbait anglers a new way to target wary and inactive bass and other predatory fish with a wide-gliding, floating action designed to stay in the strike zone and turn following fish into biting fish.
Developed on the big bass lakes of California, the Scandal Resident gets its name from its ability to "reside" in the strike zone. Its wide-gliding action allows anglers to work the bait nearly in place on the surface, glide it side-to-side, use a stop-and-go retrieve or wake it across the top. Anglers can also reel the Resident down into the water column before allowing it to rise head-first back to the surface, creating another opportunity to trigger fish that are following the bait as it escapes to the surface like a fleeing baitfish.
For fish inspecting the Resident from below, a chin-mounted underspin blade with a flattened design rotates and flashes with even the slightest movement, while feathered 3X treble hooks add another layer of movement and visual attraction. Combined with the bait's surface action, the blade and feathered trebles create a visual overload designed to give hesitant followers multiple reasons to commit.

Built from a 3D scan of a real trout, the Scandal Resident features highly realistic photo-printed color patterns based on rainbow trout, hitch and golden shiner forage. The under-skin side water channels and an X cross-tail design help keep the bait stable and balanced throughout the retrieve and on the pause, while rotating hook hangers help keep hooked fish pinned. Its scented Twin Skin construction and water intake tail section is self-draining, and each Scandal Resident comes packaged in a deluxe ventilated carry bag to keep the bait protected and dry between trips.
The Scandal Resident is available in 8-inch and 10-inch models and three baitfish color patterns.
