Berkley Expands Popular Crankbait Lineup With Frittside X
Reinforced circuit board bill increases durability while preserving the proven Frittside action anglers trust
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Berkley is expanding one of its most proven crankbait families with the all-new Frittside X, a premium take on the trusted flat-sided crankbait built to deliver increased durability without sacrificing the action anglers have come to expect from the Frittside lineup. As the extra-durable tier of the Frittside franchise, Frittside X features a reinforced circuit board bill, premium custom-painted colorways and the same Frittside action, the Frittside X brings added durability and refinement to a long-standing Berkley favorite.
The thin bill is a key part of what gives the Frittside its signature fish-catching action, but the durability of traditional polycarbonate bills can lessen over time. The Frittside X addresses that tradeoff with a reinforced circuit board bill designed to significantly improve durability while maintaining the proven action that has helped make Frittside one of Berkley's most successful crankbait franchises.
The Frittside X retains Berkley's patented FlashDisc Technology, which balances weight and buoyancy to replicate the natural action of balsa while maintaining the durability of a plastic body. Thirteen custom-painted premium colors provide realistic, forage-driven presentations, while precision-engineered Fusion19 hooks deliver reliable hooksets and keep fish hooked throughout the fight. Together, the upgraded components give anglers a familiar performance in a more premium, durable package.
"The goal with Frittside X was to improve durability without changing the action that anglers already trust," said Nathan Ragsdale, Senior Product Manager, Freshwater Baits at Berkley. "The reinforced circuit board bill addresses a known durability challenge with traditional thin-billed crankbaits, while the custom color options give anglers a more premium version of a bait they already know and rely on."
