Savage Gear Brings Blueback Herring to Life With the New 3D 4Play Herring
Built for speed, the lifelike herring swimbait combines realistic action, stability and versatility for targeting feeding and schooling fish
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Savage Gear delivers a highly realistic take on one of bass fishing's fastest-speed forage species with the new 3D 4Play Herring. Created from a 3D scan of a real blueback herring and photo-printed details, the swimmer-style swimbait is designed to combine a realistic forage profile with an action built for targeting aggressive fish feeding on herring, shad and other baitfish.
Optimized to remain balanced and under control at high speeds, the 3D 4Play Herring can be burned across the surface to imitate a blueback herring or fast-fleeing baitfish, giving anglers an option for targeting aggressive fish chasing bait. On both fast and slow retrieves, the bait produces a V-wake designed to draw fish in, while stop-and-go retrieves create a more erratic action. When stopped completely, the bait falls with a tantalizing tail shimmy to give following fish another opportunity to strike. Each bait is equipped with super sharp treble hooks, with seven color options selected to match popular herring and baitfish profiles.
"Blueback herring fisheries can demand a completely different approach, especially when fish are actively feeding and moving with bait," said Jared Kutil, Savage Gear Product Manager. "With the 3D 4Play Herring, we wanted to create a bait that anglers could fish fast and confidently while still delivering the realistic profile and action needed to imitate that forage."
Tested and proven on Lake Lanier, Lake Murray, and Lake Hartwell, the 3D 4Play Herring was built with blueback herring fisheries in mind. Its combination of speed, control and versatile action also makes it a great option anywhere predatory fish are chasing smaller, fast-moving baitfish throughout North America.
