CCA Florida Oyster Ring Making Events
Join CCA Florida and the University of Central Florida for oyster-ring-making events from 9 a.m. to noon:
November 8
November 15
December 6
Oyster rings have been proven to be extremely effective at recruiting "baby" oysters to restore damaged reefs, providing vital habitat and filtering water. These oyster rings will then be deployed in the Mosquito Lagoon, one of the most biodiverse estuaries in the Northern Hemisphere.
This is fun but messy work, so wear clothes that can get dirty. Each event will be held at UCF Biology Field Research Center (behind the building), 12724 Ara Dr. To RSVP, call or text Greg Harrison 407-276-6141. Please note, volunteers must be over 18.
