At the October Commission Meeting, TWRA recently shared an exciting early look at the upcoming Tennessee Trout Management Plan. With the current plan set to expire in 2027, the Fisheries Division is kicking off a refresh that puts public input front and center—just like the process used for the Black Bass Management Plan.
Trout anglers are invited to weigh in through a new online poll, helping shape priorities from the start.
TWRA will also convene both a stakeholder advisory committee representing Tennessee's diverse trout‑fishing community and a technical advisory committee of agency staff and outside experts. Together, these groups will collaboratively build a forward‑thinking plan slated to launch in 2028.
